COMMITTEE HOME

A regularly scheduled meeting of the BSA Troop 100 Committee was called to order at 7:35 p.m. on April 9, 2007 by Committee Chair Art Silverman at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. In attendance were Art Silverman, Amy Wooden, Don Francis, Gloria Robles, John Le Mon, Lisa Hoke, Cliff Bond, Ralph Wooden, Lisa Hoke, Steve Comer, Mike Kirkpatrick, and Melanie Giordano.

The reading of the minutes was dispensed with, as they have been posted on the web for the last month.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer’s Report: Don Francis indicated the Council Fire campaign brought in between $1700 and $1800, and everyone should turn in receipts.

Scoutmaster’s Report:

1) There will be short Court of Honor at the end of the meeting.

2) The last campout at High Roads turned out to be the winter campout, as there was snow. All the boys had a good time and enjoyed the snow. Two new scouts were inducted at the campfire. There was a small fee of $4 per scout attending.

3) The Annual Dinner was well-attended and went quite well.

4) John and Ralph both went to Camp Inspection training and will be performing camp inspections this summer.

5) John now has some new books on insignia placement and Courts of Honor.

6) Eleven boys and five adults helped with the Easter Sunrise service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

7) The Parent-Son campout is in 1 1/2 weeks. All families should notify John ASAP with numbers, so John can buy the food! If at all possible, families should go up on Friday and stay late on Sunday, as it’s a wonderful camping area. Carpooling is a good thing for this trip, so please do so.

8) Payments for Goshen are now past due, and as only five families have paid, folks need to get their $300 fee turned in. John has already paid the fee, so this is very important.

9) The Westpoint campout is Friday-Sunday, May 4-6. Boys need to take the day off on Friday, so the Troop can get a very early start. Scouts should arrive home between 4:00 and 6:00.

10) The Appalachian Trail campout is on April 19-20. This is the rescheduled trip from the Fall.

11) Ralph and John went to the District Roundtable. John picked up information on the District Dinner. Gloria Robles is on the Food Committee for that. The dinner will be Friday, May 11 from 6:30-9:30. Price is $25 per person, though we could get a discount if we can fill a table. John Cates is going to be awarded the District Award of Merit, so all families are encouraged to come support John!

12) May 12 will be a Merit Badge Day out at Camp Snyder. Boys are encouraged to attend.

Art has been going through Dan Tyrrell’s slides from 1939-1942 documenting their trips. He’s scanning them and adding them to the website.

Amy Wooden,

Committee Sectretary

District Dinner:

Ralph Wooden moved that the Troop purchase a table at the District dinner. Lisa Hoke seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
