MARSH'S FARM WINTER CAMPOUT

Take I-270 north towards Frederick.

At Frederick, continue north on Route 15.

Check your mileage where you begin to follow Route 15.

Continue north 14.3 miles to Catoctin Furnace Road.

Turn right.

In about 0.3 miles you will see an old smelting furnace from Revolutionary War days on your left. That is Catoctin Furnace.

Catoctin Furnace is a common rendezvous site when going to Marsh's Farm. The Troop usually caravans to the drop-off site from this location.

From the Catoctin Furnace continue down the road about 0.5 miles to a cross-over on Route 15. This cross-over is located at the entrance to Cunningham Falls State Park.

Cross the northbound lanes of Route 15 and head south on Route 15.

Continue south on route 15 for one-half mile (0.5 miles) to Catoctin Hollow Road.

Turn right.

Follow Catoctin Hollow Road for about 3.5 miles.

Turn left onto Mink Farm Road.

Follow Mink Farm Road to just past Mink Farm Campground. Bear left at Mink Farm Campground.

DO NOT ENTER MINK FARM CAMPGROUND.

Turn left into the parking lot for the Catoctin Conservation Center. The Conservation Center parking lot is the drop-off and pick-up point.

The total distance is about 55 miles. The time required is about 75 to 90 minutes.

To ensure that we are able to get everyone and everything there, please do not leave the church until the Scoutmaster is certain that every Scout and all equipment is in a vehicle.
