The minutes from the April 5, 2006 meeting were read and approved. In attendance were Art Silverman, John Le Mon, John Cates, Don Francis, Gloria Robles, Annie Noel, Francesca Rey, Rina Kunk, Ralph Wooden, and Amy Wooden.

Scoutmaster’s Report:

John Le Mon gave the Scoutmaster’s report.

1) The Easter Sunrise Service at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital was a good service project for the boys. The expected size of the crowd was not realized, but the service was still what was expected.

2) The Parent-Son trip was a rousing success. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Next year, the leaders are planning a new location. On this trip, Steve Kunk was inducted into the Troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster. Steve got his Eagle in Troop 100.

3) Next week, May 10, will be an early meeting. The Troop will be leaving at 7:00 for swim checks at Montgomery Aquatic Center. Manuel Robles will be running the checks, as he is a certified Life Guard. The Feature trip will leave on the 19th around 4:00, returning on the 22nd in the early evening. The Scouts will be missing school on Monday the 22nd. Tom’s Run Outfitters will be the company renting the canoes. With all the expenses, the Troop should charge $30 per boy for the trip. Each boy should bring a “drybag” for this trip. These are available at the surplus stores, HTO, etc. This will also be needed for the High Adventure Trip this summer.

4) There will be a Court of Honor tonight.

5) We need to order more T-Shirts for the smaller Scouts. Dave Hutchison will be asked to do this.

6) Mugs also need to be ordered. John Le Mon will contact Peter Bielak regarding this.

7) On May 12 is the Scouter Recognition Dinner for the District. It will be at Metropolitan Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. John will talk with the PLC about forming a color guard.

8) The Troop will be going to Goshen from July 1-July 8.

9) The Troop Picnic will be on June14th.

10) The Webelos Den from Pack 61 visited last week and had a good time.

Don Francis, Treasurer, reported we have about $14,000 in the combined accounts.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
