Committee Meeting for December, 2007

Boy Scout Troop 100
Minutes December 5, 2007

A regularly scheduled meeting of the BSA Troop 100 Committee was called to order at 7:43 p.m. on December 5, 2007 by Committee Chair Art Silverman at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. In attendance were Art Silverman, Steve Comer, Mike Kirkpatrick, Rudy Cassasola, John Le Mon, Amy Wooden, Olivia Baker, Lisa Hoke, Don Francis, and Ralph Wooden.

Treasurer’s Report:

Don Francis reported that the balance at this time is about $7,800, which is about $3,000 below where we should be at this time. Dues were $130 last year. It was moved to increase the dues to $150. An amendment was proposed to make a 2-installment option available, with one being due in September and one being due in January, to reduce any financial hardship the increase might cause. The amendment passed unanimously, as did the motion. In addition, Don will attempt to provide a budget for the next committee meeting.

Scoutmaster’s Report:

1) The Appalachian Trail trip was well-attended and the kids had a lot of fun. MARC offers half-price tickets for large groups, if purchased in advance. Scouts got to share the trail with 1500 Ultra-Marathon runners.

2) Two boys passed their Board of Reviews last night, so there will be a Court of Honor this evening.

3) Calendar updates include: next week’s meeting will be a regular meeting, as no place for caroling has been located; the event on the 15th-16th may not happen; the following week is the holiday party.

4) Philmont will happen starting July 7, 2009. This is a firm date for a 12-day trek with a reservation for 16 boys and 4 adults. Woohoo!

Christmas Tree Sale:

The Christmas Tree sale is scheduled for this weekend and everything is in place. Flyers are being passed out this evening. Announcements have been e-mailed to the Westbrook neighborhood list serve and posted on Craig’s list.
