Committee Meeting for January, 2007
Boy Scout Troop 100
Minutes January, 2007
A regularly scheduled meeting of the BSA Troop 100 Committee was called to order at 7:35 p.m. on January 10, 2007 by Committee Chair Art Silverman at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. In attendance were Art Silverman, Lisa Hoke, Barry Wood, Annie Noel, Gloria Robles, John Le Mon, Steve Kunk, and Amy Wooden.
Scoutmaster’s Report:
John Le Mon gave the Scoutmaster’s Report
1. The Christmas Tree Sale netted $1702.00. Next year buy 80 trees, 25 Douglas, 25 Frasier, and 30 balsam firs. Profit will be about the same and shouldn’t need to sell for a second weekend. Lisa Hoke suggests that maybe selling wreaths exclusively, using a table set up at Rodman’s, might bring in the same profit for a lot less work.
2. The Benjamin Banneker District website makes special thanks to Troop and Pack 100 for their holiday gifts at the District Roundtable and also has a special write-up about the Pancake Breakfast. In addition, Troop 100 collected the largest amount of food – 1074 – pounds.
3. The Troop’s charter is almost ready to be submitted, but John is waiting on a couple of signatures.
4. Goshen payments are due February 21, and it’s exactly $300. Camperships are, as always, available.
5. The Marsh’s Farm trip is coming up on January 20-21, and the weather may actually cooperate.
6. Peter Bielak provided the camping awards for Alan Rey and Manuel Robles.
7. The Troop is looking at the possibility of a new site for the PLC campout.
8. Alan Rey’s application for Eagle has been approved by the National Office.
9. Rafael Suarez completed his requirements for Eagle on Saturday, with five hours to spare.
10. Manuel Robles is almost finished with his requirements for Eagle and should finish up in the next couple of weeks. We should have a double Eagle Board of Review sometime in the next few weeks.
11. Four scouts are eligible for Senior Patrol Leader and elections will be held in about four weeks.
Other Business:
Council Fire preparations are underway. Lisa Hoke will be sending out a mailing to advertisers and donors in the near future. Art will do the layout, again. Ralph will print the cover.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:24 p.m.
Amy Wooden,
