In attendance were Art Silverman, Amy Wooden, Don Francis, Barry Wood, John Le Mon, Yzza Ramos, Ralph Wooden, and Lisa Hoke. Visiting were Webelos parents Steve Comer, Mike Kirkpatrick, Nick Giordano, and Rudy Cassasoli.
The reading of the minutes was dispensed with, as they have been posted on the web for the last month.
Treasurer’s Report:
Don Francis indicated there have been no fundraisers or other significant financial activities, so our financial well-being has been stable over the last month.
Scoutmaster’s Report:
1) We will have a Court of Honor this evening, to honor a new Second Class Scout, who passed his Board of Review earlier this evening.
2) Scouts will be going to Goshen at Camp Marriott the week of July 1, from Sunday to Saturday. The price is $300 for the week, but camper-ships are available for anyone interested. Some people are still missing their payments and need to get them turned in.
3) The PLC campout is this weekend.
4) The Blue and Gold dinner for the Packs is Sunday.
5) The 17th and 18th is the next campout for the whole troop. It will be near Aldee, Virginia.
6) The weekend of the 24th is the 89th Annual Dinner for the troop. Setup for the Annual Dinner will be Saturday morning.
7) The Easter Sunrise Service at Walter Reed will be April 8. Scouts will be working at that service, so put the date on your calendar.
8) The first weekend in May is the WestPoint Camporee.
9) The Appalachian Trail campout will be May 18-20, starting from Weaverton Cliffs.
10) ASM John Cates underwent additional surgery, related to his appendectomy from last year, and it went well.
Council Fire:
The Council Fire is progressing well. Art has almost everything he needs accept the Scout drawings, which will be done tonight. Lisa Hoke has done two mailings to advertisers and has between $800 and $900 in hand. Several ads were passed out for parents to pick up.
Training:
Ralph spoke about training. Both Steve Kunk and John Le Mon went to the University of Scouting. John earned his Bachelor’s of Boy Scout Training degree. Ralph earned his Bachelor of Cub Scout training. He also passed out a handout explaining Boards of Review. He also discussed the Order of the Arrow and indicated we would hold an e-mail election for the adult election.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:19 p.m.
Amy Wooden,
Committee Secretary
